| This is a lovely Japanese Imari charger with vibrant enameling and excellent facial expressions. It is 18 3/8” in diameter, Meiji Period (1868-1912) There are no wears, rubbing (except on the rim) or wears but one hairline crack at the bottom rim and crazing on the rim and back. The subject matter is 'The seven sages of the bamboo grove', originally figures from Chinese mythology. They are poets, literati and immortals. | |||||||||
